San Jose Job Corps’ Youth 2 Youth violence-prevention initiative committee, along with our Student Government Association and the center’s Diversity Committee led a center-wide Day of Silence & Orlando memorial vigil in the campus quad. Students submitted pledge cards to fight against discrimination and hate towards the LGBTQ community, sang songs, shared poetry and held a moment of silence demonstration.

On hand to share in local community support was Omar Torres and Baltazar Gomez Rodriguez, Community Outreach Coordinator & Council Assistant to the Office of Councilmember Magdalena Carrasco. And Manager with Santa Clara County’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs, Maribel Martinez.
