San Jose Job Corps’ Youth 2 Youth committee plans a “Day of Silence”

San Jose Job Corps’ Youth 2 Youth (Y2Y) violence-prevention initiative committee created by and led by Job Corps students nationwide, along with the center’s Diversity Committee, will be leading a center-wide Day of Silence tomorrow Thursday, June 16th. Beginning at 11:30am outside in the campus quad, students will submit their pledge to fight against discrimination and hate towards lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered individuals and pick up materials for a silent demonstration.

There will brief program at approximately 12:10pm followed by a moment of silence for LGBT victims of violence. After the moment of silence students in training on center are permitted to continue with their silent demonstration by remaining silent for the remainder of the training day.
