Bon Appétit’s General Manager Meets With Culinary Arts Students

February 4, 2016

Most culinary school students do it for the love of the profession — and expect grueling, long hours, and low. San Jose Job Corps students were thrilled to learn more about an alternate path, into an elite food service company with locations right here in the bay area!

Bon Appétit General Manager Andrew Tescher joined Regional Manager of Recruitment and Safety Jen Takara at Samsung’s café and kitchen in Mountain View to talk about their programs and currently available positions to our Job Corps Culinary Arts students.

It became apparent during the presentation and Q&A session that many of the students were eagerly looking part-time opportunities while also furthering their culinary education. The students were also pleasantly surprised to hear that most positions are Monday through Friday and allow for free weekends, unlike most food industry positions.

And thanks to the number of Bon Appétit cafés in and around the bay area, there were not any students for whom the recruitment team could not find likely opportunities!
