San Jose Job Corps’ first Community Relations Council of 2016 was a successful networking opportunity for staff and guests. We had a great turn out of employers, non-profits, community-based organizations and service agencies.

Local San Jose One-Stop partners presented the new tech programs being offered as great transition training opportunities for Job Corps completers. As well as enrollment process and qualifications for current soft skills workshops and programs offered at both the One-Stop’s  youth and adult centers.

Our community partner San Jose Police Department’s Crime Prevention Unit presented value information’s to the audience on current safety trends and how our Job Corps community can assist with taking action to ensure East San Jose remains safe for the neighbors and students.

Job Corps’ Center Director and Department Heads shared program updates. Guidance Counselors, Careers Transition Specialist and TEAP Specialist staff had the opportunity to network and connect by exchanging contact information and creating action plans for follow-up, program presentations, and SJJC Outreach to conduct presentations to our newly established service agency providers for future client referrals.
