Responding to the on-going crises in Japan, San Diego Job Corps Center’s students and staff recently raised $700 for the people of Japan.
“Our center staff and students are always generous when we conduct fundraisers for people throughout the world who need assistance,” advised Ms. Claudia Chavez, Student Government Association Specialist (SGA). “Staff members purchased and donated food items, in addition to donating money,” she continued. “Our SGA members volunteered to sell and collect money for the food and drinks sold. It only took us two days to raise the money, and we will be presenting the $700 check to our local American Red Cross office.”
