Five students accompanied by Work-Based Learning Coordinator
Cecilia Ledeama and CSTE Coordinator Bill Katsifolis visited the Hampton
Inn Suites in West Sacramento on Feb. 2. Their visit was part of the national
Groundhog Day Job Shadow event, which gives students a chance to visit
businesses and industries and learn about career opportunities. Students
Jade Rain Barrie, Brian Henry, Constance Herrick, Christopher Simons and
Miesha Warren learned about the Hampton Inn’s reservation, front desk,
sales, housekeeping and facilities maintenance operations. They met
with General Manager Leua Malzahn and talked with fellow students
Silva Moore, Jamal Jones and Cynthia Xiong, who currently are doing
WBL internships at Hampton Inn.
Hampton Inn Suites has hired three SJCC graduates: Evanna Vang,
front desk; Blanca Barajas, housekeeping and front desk; and Angel Perez, front desk.
