Three students land jobs as a result of annual event
Three Sacramento Job Corps Center students landed jobs as a result of the center’s annual Career Fair, held Oct. 24 at the center’s recreation center. Student Michael Ati was hired by Nelson Staffing, working in waste management, and students Sheena Hopkins and Luke Blair were hired by Securitas as a result of interviews they had while attending the career fair.
The event’s theme was “Make the Connection.” The fair, which attracted 29 different companies and organizations, gave students an opportunity to meet with area employers, build their professional network, and apply for open positions.
The companies that participated were AmeriCorps NCCC; Pacific Region; Art Institute; Beutler Heating & Air; California Conservation Corps; Calvine Urgent Care; Center for Employment Training; Chase Bank; Chinese West Medical Center; Cosumnes River College Career Center; Craig Cares; Heald College; JS Contracting; Molina HealthCare Center; Napa Auto Parts; Napa College; Nelson Staffing; North State BIA; PRIDE Industries; Primerica Financial Services; Sacramento City College; Securitas; South County Career Center; United States Army; United States Navy; U.C. Davis Hospital; U.S National Guard; and Universal Protection Services.
