Sacramento Job Corps Community Service Project at William Land Park

Forty-five Sacramento Job Corp students representing four different career technical training programs recently completed a community service event at William Land park in Sacramento. This event was through First Tee of Sacramento, an organization that works with inner city kids to teach them character and life lessons through the game of golf. Students cleaned all sprinkler heads on the golf course and Teaching Center, raked, cleaned, mulched and tilled shrub and flower beds, planted flowers, power washed the Clubhouse, and stained the benches at all tees. Also students from Cement program constructed a sitting area at the tee-off area. The other career technical training programs involved were Landscaping, Facilities Maintenance and Carpentry.
