New CTT programs offers students more options

SJCC now offers two new career technical training programs, and has expanded another to offer students new career options and to more closely align its programs with labor market statistics that show growing demand for employees in the health care fields. The center is adding Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Office Support to its training programs, and expanding the Certified Medical Assistant program by 30 slots. All new programs will be taught on center. The CNA program will have 60 available slots, and will take four months to complete. Students will be able to earn the following certifications: State Certified Nurse Assistant; State Certified Home Health Aide; CPR; and First Aid. The nine-month MOS program will have 60 available slots. Students completing the program will leave with the National Healthcareer Association Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certification. The existing CMA program has been expanded from 30 to 60 slots. Successful completers will earn the CMAA, Certified Phlebotomy Technician and Certified EKG Technician certifications.
