MLK Jr. Day of Service!

MLK Jr. Day of Service!

On January 11th, SJCC students participated in Job Corps’ MLK Jr. Day of Service. Over the month of December, students and staff gathered as many donated scarves as possible. Last week, we drove to Cesar Chavez park to tie the scarves on trees to help keep the local homeless population a bit warmer over the coming winter months. We then drove to the Capitol Building to meet with Assemblymember Jim Cooper of the 9th District, and tied the remaining scarves in Downtown Sacramento. Below you will see Assemblymember Jim Cooper with the students showing their SJCC spirit, as well as CPP Trainee, Jayla Riley Young tying the first scarf of the day. Thank you to all participants for their support!
