Making strides against Breast Cancer

Students and staff members from the Sacramento Job Corps Center raised $1,882 for cancer research during the American Cancer Society’s Breast Cancer  Walk Oct. 21.

The annual fundraising event, sponsored by Making Strides against Breast Cancer, was held at the State Capitol and attracted more than 20,000 walkers and raised more than $400,00.

The SJCC team, led by Yvette Angel and security guard at SJCC and cancer survivor, included Center Director Erica Evans and cancer survivor Graciela Jamie. The team was made up of 12 staff members, 80 students and five guest.
