SJCC hosted the annual Capital City Classic Basketball Tournament on April 28th and April 29th. The Job Corps teams that participated were Tucson JC, Los Angeles JC, Treasure Island JC, San Jose JC, Nevada Reno JC  and Sacramento JC along with the Pacific Islanders Warriors who were former Job Corps students. Sacramento JC repeated being champions of the tournament by defeating Treasure Island JC by the score of 50 to 48. This was a hard fought game, members of the Sacramento JC championship team were Andrew Anovalo, Billy Brown, Kaleb Sparks, Maurice Toby, Stephon Jolliff, Ryan Bogart, Chris Davis, Deunte Rice, Ahmad Hempsteapa and John Flowers. Team was coached by Markus Benjamin and Bennie Walker.
