With an auto pool, a small city, a small ranch, self contained housing, and a need for confidentiality MISTIC has been a great fit to the Roswell Job Corps Center’s career transition and work based learning goals for several years. They have recently hired full time, one of our students who is getting near completion and she couldn’t be happier. “The work is hard, but it is good money, but we earn every dollar.” expresses Jackie Garcia.
Although they can never tell you what they do, or who they are doing it for, the rules as MISTIC are simple, you will be doing something. If you don’t have an active role with the current client, grab a weed eater or lawn mower. If you were brought on to keep the vehicles operating, but they are out on mission, clean the building.
Glenn Wells, Director for MISTIC has long been an advocate for the Job Corps siting, “They have the work ethic to get the job done and to do what is expected of them, and as long as that is the type of employee I get from Job Corps, they will continue to be the first place I look for employees.”
Past graduate Beverly Gurrero has hired on at immediately following her completion of the program and has gone on to become the Director of Logistics and currently serves on the Roswell Job Corps Center Career Technical Education Council.
