On March 20, 2024, Arecibo Job Corps became the epicenter of job opportunities with the Employment and Services Fair, an event that brought together about 45 employment agencies and services. From early in the morning, students and professionals eager for new opportunities gathered at this meeting that promised to open doors to a prosperous working future.
One of the highlights of the day was the talk given by Ms. Nitza Colon, Deputy Director of One Stop, who presented the Registered Apprenticeship Program. This program, designed to prepare young people for the world of work, captured the attention of those present, who found it a promising avenue for acquiring the skills needed in today’s job market.
In addition, West LLC shared their valuable experience in implementing the program in their company, highlighting the tangible benefits it has brought. Their testimony not only inspired the attendees, but also demonstrated how collaboration between educational institutions and companies can generate positive results for both parties.
The activity was not only limited to informative talks, but also became a space for tangible opportunities. Students had the opportunity to receive personalized guidance and concrete job offers, which consolidated the purpose of the fair: to be a direct bridge to the world of work.
With an atmosphere of enthusiasm and expectations, the Job and Services Fair at Arecibo Job Corps was a complete success. This event not only represented a window of opportunities for attendees, but also evidenced the commitment of the educational and business community in the development and professional growth of young people.
