Red Rock Hotel and Lodging student, Marva Smith of Philadelphia read her poem, which was influenced by Martin Luther King, during the Awards Assembly on January 10. This is what she wrote:
Martin Luther King had a dream that one day the nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of creed!
I have a dream to never give up on life,
There were times I was discouraged,
Never let it get in the way of my intelligence,
Past became memories,
Future became bright like the sun
It created a path to success without settling for less
My dream is to be the best… I AM MARVA SMITH!
