Congratulations to Red Rock Job Corps students, Haillie Brownawell, Carpentry, (left) and Dasheay Shields, Auto Technology, for their winning submissions in the recent Sullivan County Arts Council’s Literary Contest. Haillie’s collection of free-form poems took second prize for their, “searing imagery and stunning handling of language,” says Derek Davis, contest coordinator. She placed second in the contest, also open to Sullivan County High School and home-schooled students. Dasheay, tied fourth for her poem. Congratulations to all!
