Red Rock students took a couple of days this week to help at the Columbia County Christian School’s Day Care Center.
For two days, 14 students and two staff helped some school volunteers paint the daycare center. Headed up by Glenn Weaver, whose wife Vanessa is the director, the work groups were able to complete the large daycare building in two days, as well as the school curbing and a number of parking blocks. Mrs. Weaver said that she was thrilled that our students could assist with the project, and anticipated a longer work week. “I am quite impressed at the job well done. It was done very quickly, too.” Assisting were HSE teacher Fred Weaver and members of his GED class, including, Devaun Randolph, Tyler Bland, Levi Jones and Zack Xanthakos, Auto Technology, and Nazir Stroud, Auto Collision Repair; and BCL Jackie Johnson and Justin Russell, Ernest McGill, HBI Plumbing; Jesus Alonso, David Schwing and Jimmy Mills, Auto Collison Repair, and Lena O’Donnell, Hotel and Lodging.
