Students and staff attended sessions for mental health training on Wednesday, February 10, Thursday, February 11 and Friday, February 12. Conducted by Mental Health First Aid of Philadelphia, the sessions covered topics such as stages of adolescent development as well as symptoms of what they go through concerning mental health. Tianna Moore, public health program analyst, said that the training will help participants understand the signs and symptoms of mental health issues and use a five-step action plan when they encounter a mental health challenge in crisis. Ms. Moore said the trainings are not only designed for the workplace or training day, but also can be used in everyday life when dealing at home with families and in other situations.
