Veterans Awareness Week Events

On Veteran’s Day, November 10th, 2010, BCL contacted via telephone the veteran contacts Ramey Job Corps has for recruiting students for the military forces, and those who provide career orientations to students.

Ms. Martínez contacted Veterans from the ARMY, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, acknowledged and express appreciation for their support and their service provided to defend the nation.

The Student Government Association and its’ Leader visited the Veterans Hospital in Mayagüez , Puerto Rico in recognition to the Veteran’s Awareness Week. The SGA addressed an admiration letter in appreciation to their support, and extraordinary sacrifice to support the values of a nation. Furthermore, the Association gave fruit baskets to the Veterans and spend some quality time sharing great experiences and advises.

 The Recreation Department and Administration, in a small ceremony acknowledged the Veteran employees on Center. Ramey Job Corps has nine employees, from different departments, who were given gift certificates and acknowledgement certificates in appreciation to their given service to the nation during war. The employees had the chance to express some of their experiences and how have that helped them grow personally and professionally.

The Center is also exposing in the LCD projection in cafeteria during the Veterans Awareness Week a presentation about the U.S. Veterans, the difference between the celebration of Memorial day, and the Veterans Day. Historic insights are detailed, pictures and personal short stories.
