Right to Vote and the Electoral Process

Ramey, P.R.- In compliance of Code of Federal Regulations (20 CFR 638.535), and the Job Corps’ Policy and Requirements Handbook (PRH 6, 6.9 R1) an orientation was given to Ramey Job Corps students so they’ll clear doubts and learn about their civil right to vote, and the electoral process.

Some issues on board were: Voter’s requirements, registry, electoral redistribution, general elections, advanced  and absent votes, hospital/jail votes, Commission’s advertisements, Accessible Vote (HAVA: vote of disabled citizens), telephone votes, voting centers-times-electoral ID cards, and referendum.

The purpose of the event is to educate our students for participating intelligently during the elections day which will be on November, 2012. The Permanent Registry Board provided a wide range of material to exhibit on Center prior the elections.
