Nash Finch Company: Wholesale Supply Company Hires Burdick Student

The possibilities are endless when anybody has a strong mentor. That is what Burdick Job Corps gets from their Work Based Learning partnership with Nash Finch Company: Wholesale Food Distributor. Ray Coleman, supervisor of Burdick’s Job Corps Work Based Learning students, is exactly that, a mentor.

Ray goes out of his way to work with Burdick students and does it without hesitation.  Skill level and ability isn’t a factor when students start a WBL II, because he will find where they work best and will mentor and guide them throughout their WBL.

Recently, Reid Gagner (Carpentry/FM student), worked as a WBL II at Nash Finch and was later hired, which his job turned into a WBL III. When it was time for Reid to exit, he transferred from Nash Finch Company in Minot, ND to Fargo, ND.  After Reid left, another student took his place. Nash Finch Company played a huge part in Reid’s success that will be carried on to his new job.

Nash Finch Company is about doing business and doing it well, and at the same time, takes our WBL partnership very seriously and has been proven to be a very successful WBL partnership with Burdick Job Corps.
