On March 2nd through the 4th, Facilities Maintenance students, Carpentry students and the FM and Carpentry instructors helped the annual Minot Association of Builders Home and Garden Show at the All Season Arena be a success. This was big event due to the recent 2011 flood of Minot and all of the rebuilding in the community. This year, the event had 114 Vendors and over 5,000 people attending.
Fifteen Carpentry students (99 hours) helped vendors set up and 12 Facilities Maintenance students ( 84 hours). Students also helped tear down for three vendors at the event.
Fifteen students worked various hours throughout the show handing out flyers and stamping hands upon entrance into the event. A total of eight staff worked the Quentin N. Burdick Job Corps booth. Students and staff also had the opportunity to visit with the vendors, which included some of our WBL/Community partners.
Staff and students put in over 620 hours of time into the MAB Home and Garden show, which they participate in every year.
