Burdick Students and Staff Participate in Relay for Life Event

Quentin N. Burdick Job Corps Center students and staff participated in the community’s premier cancer education and fundraising event known as Relay for Life. Led by Jen Aaseth, Medical Office Support (MOS) instructor, staff and students organized many fundraising events including Kiss the Pig, beaded lanyard sales, a bake sale, and a silent auction to mention a few. Fundraising efforts continued with contestants Matthew Schiltz (Carpentry student) and Mike Frank, Facilities Maintenance Instructor dressing in costumes for a final event where bids were taken to raise additional funds. With 43 teams participating in the Minot community-wide event, Burdick was successful in raising the most money with over $6,100.00, which earned Gold Team status.
