Burdick Student Participates in Relay for Life, Minot, ND

Matthew J. Schiltz (in red dress), Hankinson native, played a large role in helping his Relay for Life team raise more than $6,000. The Relay for Life is a fundraising event of the American Cancer Society held annually.

Matthew worked hard to assist in raising money, to include participating in the Ms. Relay contest held during the Relay. He raised nearly $100 in less than 30 minutes by soliciting participants at the Relay. Matthew walked the grounds in heels to raise the money.

Matthew has been a student at the Quentin N. Burdick Job Corps Center since August 29, 2011. He serves on the Student Government Association and has received several awards for his leadership and work in his selected trade of carpentry.
