Do All Metal Fabrications, located 20 miles north of Minot, has become a job hotspot for our students completing the Welding trade. Not only does Do All Metal Fabrications assist in transporting students to the worksite, they also hire them on and work closely with our students. Melissa Hubble, Human Resource Manager, at Do All Metal Fabrications, says the relationship is strong do to the visit received by Edna Sailor-Bergstad, WBL Coordinator, and Welding instructor, Gary Norman. Hubble stated they were able to explain to them what kind of work was needed at Do All Metal Fabrications, what skills/knowledge students need to work there and if anything, help students prepare for employment at Do All.
Hubble explained that the WBL evaluations that are done weekly are great to do as it gives Do All the opportunity to work with the students and let them know the skills, on which they need to work.
Hubble says Burdick Job Corps has been great for Do All Metal Fabrications. With the shortage of housing in the Minot area, Buridick provides great welding students to work at Do All. The students and Burdick Job Corps are right within the community and they have been a big help, especially with over 15 Welding jobs currently available. Currently, Do All Metal Manufacturing employs three former Burdick Job Corps students.
