Derek Hanson, the former new OA/CTS Director and Edna Sailor, WBL BCL Liaison, attended the 2011  Governor’s Workforce Development Summit held in Minot. Over 200 participants from all levels of education, government, business and industry across the state attended the summit.   Among the notable topics were  renewed commitment to infrastructure improvements and energy development from Governor Dalyrample, solving the impending job crisis, getting  workers when you need them, the global talent showdown, and trust changes everything.  Speakers included Edward E Gordon, internationally recognized writer, researcher, speaker with clients from Microsoft, the Federal Reserve Bank and the Swiss Government. Guest speaker LeRoy Maughan , speaker for the Global Speed of Trust Practice at Franklin Covey also presented at the summit.
