On Wednesday, March 21st, Potomac students worked non-violence banners with their respective trades for a Peace Walk. Students also made anti-violence pledges.
Thursday morning Potomac Job Corps Center staff and students held a Peace Walk through the surrounding community. The walk was a great way to involve the community around an important topic. After the walk, students read poems and spoke during a cookout.
Thursday evening was the Grand Finale Dinner. Guests of honor included Job Corps Philadelphia Regional Director, Dr. Francis Cole and Job Corps National Director, Lenita Jacobs-Simmons. Guest speakers included Dr. Joseph Richardson, an Associate Professor in the Department of African-American Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. The week’s activities were a big success!
