Over 20 members of the United Nations Organization visited Potomac Job Corps Center last week, September 17, 2010. The guests represented educational and financial institutions from all over the world, including the countries of Luxemburg, Ghana, Ethiopia, Malasia, and more.
During the visit, guests toured the 66 acres facility of the Center, met with students, and discussed program’s success. Later on the day, the United Nations Group met with over 40 Job Corps students at the focus group discussions, and students were exposed to the discussions about international education, cultures, and economic development.
“It was very interesting to listen on different education systems throughout the world”, said Latasha Green, 21 year old students of Potomac Job Corps Center. “I was also surprised to learn that none of the visiting countries offer educational and residential programs at no cost, similar to Job Corps program, to their youth.
