Potomac Job Corps Center staff are planning to have students return back to center once the leaders such as: Horizon Youth Services, Exceed Corporation, and and Department of Labor approve students to return safely. The center has been operating everyday since the pandemic began a few months ago. Potomac has been planning to make accommodations and recommendations to the way the center will open its doors to students and the public. All safety precautions have been considered to diffuse situations that will put staff and students at risk. Students will be returning to trades such as: Electrical, HVAC, Building Construction Technology, Carpentry, Office Administration, Plumbing, Culinary Arts and more! During this time Potomac staff continue to engage daily in COVID-19 Training’s and Social Distancing Training’s to make sure safety is in the forefront of everyone’s daily procedures. Students are doing a great job also by practicing social distancing through Distance Learning with their academic instructor. Student engagement through Google-classrooms is supported by the National Job Corps Association (NJCA), Horizon Youth Services (HYS), and Exceed Corporation. The center will continue to focus on making a smooth transition for students to return by working together.
