Potomac Job Corps Center is always excited to highlight alumni/graduates who continue to make their mark on the world. Potomac continues to practice social distancing and distance learning with all students. While practicing social distancing our proud alumni always seem to open up their schedule to talk about their experience(s) at Potomac Job Corps Center. The alumni to highlight today is Anthony Rivera. He is a proud alumni of Potomac that trained in Transportation Communication Union. He also has a background in Culinary Arts as well. While training at Potomac Anthony received certifications for CPR, OPAC, and OSHA-10. He currently resides in Washington DC. He explained that before coming to Potomac he’d just completed high school and was unable to attend college. So, he came to Potomac Job Corp Center to train and major in a leading industry job. Anthony is a proud participant of the Transportation Communication Union trade. He also managed to structure time to participate in extracurricular activities on center as well. For example, he participated in the faith based group, taught dance class, and a member of the Student Government Association. He loved his center and training so much that after working in the transportation industry he realized that his passion was working at Potomac to support student achievement. Anthony said “Your time is limited , so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other people opinions drown out your own inner voice”
