Potomac Job Corps Center Graduate Highlight

Potomac would like to introduce another alumni class of 2018 graduate Kwayvon Womack. Kwayvon was a participant of the Plumbing and HVAC trade. While on center he worked hard for certifications in OSHA 10, Universal 608, TracPipe, Ramset, and HPIP. He currently resides in Washington, DC. Before coming to Potomac JCC the alumni was looking for an opportunity to make his situation at home and at work better. He wanted to get his High School diploma, trade, and driver’s license. What led Kwayvon to Potomac was his wisdom and ability to know and understand that his life had to change if he made the proper arrangements. The graduate studied Plumbing and HVAC on center. He was a part of the student government leader, dorm leader, and student ambassador. The alumni is working at Potomac Job Corp Center with the facility maintenance staff. Yes, he continued to train with an apprenticeship program for HVAC. Job Corps prepared him with multiculturalism, interview skills, and responsibility skills. Before I was homeless with no job, no experience, no HSD, no license, and now I have all of them. I’m happy to have a job because I’m able to support my family. He said, “my family made me a better man.”
