Gardening at Potomac

The Potomac Job Corps Brick and Carpentry trades designed a community garden to encourage healthy eating habits, teach environmental education, and to help students learn more about organic gardening. Square foot gardening, container gardening, propagation techniques, grafting, organic fertilizers, property surveying, architectural designing, organic pest control and more were topics of discussion and lessons taught in the construction of this community garden. It is the Center’s desire to pot plants and provide herbs to seniors living in the Southeast area of Washington, D.C.
