Three Potomac Job Corps students had an opportunity to shadow four congressional offices—Congressman Steny Hoyer, Congressman Roscoe Bartlett, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and Congresswoman Donna Edwards. Students also had a chance to visit Congressman Chris Van Hollen in the Rayburn Building in Washington, DC. Congresswomen Edwards and Holmes-Norton took the time to talk about their past and present interns, their roles and expectations. The student had a full view of the daily operations of the Capitol Hill and District Offices. As with many of our outreach excursions, students learn to appreciate the challenges and rewards to every work site.
