Service to the Community is Priority in October

Every Friday a group of 7 students and the BCL  work in the East End Cooperative Ministries Food Bank packing groceries (120-144 bags) and working in the kitchen preparing meals on wheels and bag lunches.

The Student Government Association sponsored a center wide Walk for Charity in conjunction with the “Let’s Move” campaign on Oct. 23 and raised $95 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters as a Make a Difference Day event.

PJCC also sponsored a Blood Drive on Oct. 27.   61 participated and the Central Blood Bank was able to secure 48 products which will help save 144 lives!

 Eleven students and three staff helped the Friends of the Library set up and take down their bi-annual book sale at the Squirrel Hill Library on Oct. 27 and Nov. 1, 2010. The students receive a bag of books each for their help as well as community service hours.
