Pine Ridge Job Corps’ Student Government Donates to Veterans’ Cause

Nyakhor Dobuol, vice president of student government  at the Pine Ridge Job Corps, presented a $500 donation for the Honor Flight program for World War II Veterans to Lowell Meunchau, one of the area vets who will be on the area’s second Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. in November.  “Job Corps students voted to support the project, which gives WWII veterans an all expense paid trip to see the WWII memorial”, said Dobuol. Joining for the photo are: (from left) Jessica Roit, one of the project organizers, Dobuol, Muenchau, and veterans Lee Wahlstrom and Rollin Curd, who were on the first trip in May. “So far nine veterans have signed up for the November trip”, said Roit. “Applications from veterans and donations to support the project are still being accepted”, she said.  There were 10 veterans and 11 guardians who made the first trip in May. The project is a way of giving back to the Veterans.
