Preparation paid off for a group of Pinellas County Job Corps students who ran a 5k race in St. Petersburg over the weekend. They were part of the Couch to 5k Club on campus.

For Nicholas Lamoreaux and Adrienne Delgado, it was their first official 5k event. “It was very nice,” said Delgado. “They even fed us at the end.”

“I loved watching the sunrise,” added Lamoreaux. “The preparation was harder than the actual event.”

Both said they wouldn’t mind doing another race soon. The 5k club will be back in action practicing for future events on Wednesday.
