Students from Pinellas County Job Corps were quick to volunteer for this year’s Salvation Army Toy Drive.
They helped to rearrange bags in the warehouse, set up bicycles, place toys in bags and organize entire families’ gifts for this Christmas.
A number of students participating recalled receiving Salvation Army gifts as children and some noted that they received no gifts on Christmas. Volunteering for this toy drive was meaningful.
“Altogether, it was a heartwarming event to see how much these students wanted to give back”, noted volunteer organizer and Career Standards and Incentives Manager Mary Fredenburg.
This toy drive will provide gifts for as many as 1,800 children in the St. Petersburg area.
