The need for blood of all types is urgent according to One Blood representative Lydia Wallace. And Pinellas County Job Corps students lined up to deliver today.
Whenever we can get 30 donations, it can save 90 lives,” said Wallace. “We expect more than 100 donations from Job Corps this year, and that’s really good.”
A number of students today were veterans at giving blood. “It’s awesome,” said 23-year-old Jade Gemps. “Donating my blood to someone who needs it. I’m happy to give.”
“My oldest sister is a respiratory therapist,” added 19-year-old Peter Baker. “I’m nervous, but I know there’s a big need. I like that I am helping.”
