Internship and job opportunities were the primary focus as part of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Career Day at #PinellasCountyJobCorps today. Students from plumbing, electrical, carpentry and facilities maintenance got a chance to hear directly from four contractors working with FDOT. Those contractors offer a wide array of work opportunities as part of constructing bridges and highways across the state. Mastec Civil, PCS Civil, Ajax Paving Industries of Florida and Traffic Control Devices, LLC all participated. The Career Day event was led by FDOT’s Alex Montaner, the organization’s Workforce Development Initiative Lead. He told the students to remember four key things. “Show up every day. Be a person of character.
