Disney Presents at Pinellas County Job Corps

As part of National Apprenticeship week, two recruiters from The Walt Disney Company took time to meet virtually with students and staff at Pinellas County Job Corps. As a global company, they emphasized the tremendous opportunities for career development in a wide array of locations.

They called their Orlando campus “a city within a city” and gave many examples of specific jobs available ranging from a more advanced Electrician and Ride and Show Technician starting at $25 per hour to more entry level positions such as Material Attendant starting between $17 and $19 per hour.

They also presented three apprenticeship programs under their Facility and Operations Services umbrella:  electrical, mechanical and HVAC/plumbing. Most start at $18 an hour with a $1 increase per year for a total of $22 per hour by year five.

Discussion of the great benefits and opportunities to further an employee’s education while working for Disney rounded out the presentation. The recruiters even offered to review student resumes.
