Our congratulations goes out to Jacqueline O’Donnell for getting direct hired by Walgreens after eight weeks of work-based learning. Jacqueline studied in our Pinellas County Job Corps Pharmacy Technician program and will soon be promoted to a Pharmacy Technician position at the Gulfport Walgreens.

“She’s doing a fantastic job and has a high learning curve,” says Walgreen’s Store Manager Philip Platz. “We’re happy to have her on board.”

Jacqueline came to Job Corps right after finishing high school. Her aunt is a Job Corps graduate and recommended she attend.

“At Job Corps, they teach us not only about Pharm Tech, but how to be an independent adult in all areas of life,” said Jacqueline. “I really like the people there, lots of people my age in the same life situation. It was really nice having that support.”

In addition to working at Walgreens, Jacqueline is planning to attend the University of Arizona, taking online classes in chemical engineering. She eventually hopes to create new medicines.
