This month we are celebrating student Sabrina Guillaumette’s acceptance at P-Tech’s Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program. Guillaumette recently completed her Certified Nursing Assistant training here, as well as Phlebotomy in addition to OSHA, AED and CPR training.
“Job Corps has a lot of opportunities,” said Guillaumette. “It’s what you make it. I started in April 2022 and was able to successfully pass key tests in August.”
Before joining Pinellas County Job Corps, Guillaumette was in a bad car accident and on medical leave. She learned about our program from a friend and was able to start her initial training virtually.
Her ultimate goal is to follow in her mother’s footsteps to get a Registered Nurse (RN) degree and become a travel nurse. Guillaumette says her mom has been her biggest inspiration.
While training at P-Tech, she will continue to live on our Pinellas County campus. Guillaumette’s advice to new recruits is this. “Have a notebook, write a game plan, stay focused, don’t get distracted and be sure to talk to staff members when you need help.”
