Celebrating Outstanding People at Pinellas County Job Corps

Celebrating Outstanding People at Pinellas County Job Corps

As part of today’s final Community Relations Council (CRC) meeting for 2023, outgoing President Veatrice Farrell received recognition with an Outstanding Service Award. Ms. Farrell has been actively on the board for a number of years before serving as President in 2023. In addition, she has promoted Job Corps throughout the community at events, through emails, websites and more. In her tenure she elected to have the Executive Board meet frequently, always pressing for additional ways to help Pinellas County Job Corps succeed. Well done, Veatrice Farrell!

Another special part of today’s meeting happened when the Carpentry Instructor and his outstanding student came to the podium to speak about the trade. Instructor James Sturiano commented on how quickly Quinn Chase took to the Job Corps program and the praise he has received for a job well done. Chase then told the group that Job  Corps gave him his high school diploma and driver’s license in addition to his trade. He said his instructor goes above and beyond, teaching skills as well as life lessons. The meeting ended on a high note.
