The Phoenix Job Corps Center’s, Career Transition Department partnered with Shell Vacations resorts to conduct mock interviews. Ms. Jamie Gregonis along with four of the companies hiring managers participated in the Center’s mock interviews and hiring event on September 14, 2011. The managers represented the Montelucia Resort, Hyatt Regency, Arizona Grand Resort and Desert Mountain Resort. Paulette Simmons, Career Development Specialist and Harvey Thomas, Career Transition Specialist assisted with the student’s preparation and hiring event. At the end of the hiring event, the students presented the employers with Certificates of Appreciation for taking time out of their busy schedules to provide them assistance and opportunties that will help them be better prepared in their careers. Several of the students were given follow-up interviews and are being considered for employment.
