Assistant Deputy Secretary Barbara DesMarteau spent the afternoon visiting the Phoenix Job Corps center. This was the first Job Corps center that she had ever visited,  she took full advantage of learning as much as she could about our center and students.  She visited all eleven of the trades and spent time  talking with students about Job Corps and their CTT.   She even had the opportunity to drive one of the new electric solar maintenance vehicles.  Later that day the center hosted a reception for the Assistant Deputy Secretaty that included the Regional Director and  several of the center’s community partners from the public and private sector attended the reception. 

Earlier that day the Assistant Deputy Secretary was the guest speaker at the Hispanic Women’s conference where the center had 15 students volunteering.
