Philadelphia, PA – J. Harris Administrative Medical Assistant hired from clinical rotation. The Morgan Chiropractic office is no ordinary office. It’s an extremely busy office, patient/labor driven and no room for poor irresponsible customer service but flawless professionalism is a must at all times and work tasks must be completed with impeccable accuracy.
December 2010, J. Harris explains he was all over the place, working three jobs, considering a fourth job, undecided what to do and career path definitely unknown. When he learned about Philadelphia Job Corps, between curiosity, no place to go and encouragement from his mother, immediately he jumped for the chance. Several weeks later [2/2011] he enrolled in Philadelphia Job Corps and in a short time the maze of indecision was coming into focus. Clearly he could see benefits, opportunities, alternatives, and support. Coursework requirements were no problem for this energetic individual, but he could only imagine the ‘hard’ work to follow. “I knew I could do it, even though sometimes it was tough, I had to buckle down and self-discipline really became my friend. Incompletion or failure was not an option. I can say my mom and Job Corps staff were with me every step of the way to succeed”. Between classes he campaigned for student government association (SGA) president and successfully won. In addition, J. Harris had an opportunity to personally meet Job Corps National Director, Edna Primrose and provided her a guided tour of the Philadelphia Job Corps Center. “Lessons imparted to me from students and staff was many, the greatest is, “it’s more important to serve than be served”. Six months into the program J. Harris became a certified Home Health Aid and Medical Assistant”. During J. Harris rotation he notes it’s an extremely busy and challenging office. A challenge J. Harris knew was meant for him. Quickly he learned so much about the field of chiropractic work and efficiently completed many assignments with minimal supervision to the point before the work base rotation was complete J Harris was offered and accepted a position. Dr. Morgan expressed, “I am impressed with J. Harris soft skills in the office and with patients. He has employable skills that make him a dynamic asset to the Morgan Chiropractic Practice and any employer would welcome his skills”.
