Susan Shaffer, Tri-Green Outreach Coordinator in a meeting today explains to stakeholders the Tri-Green Certificate Program: “FREE” Pre-Apprenticeship. The program is a non-traditional partnership between organized labor, employers, and the public and private workforce development systems.  Although the program is four weeks, including intense instruction, the focus is utilizing skilled workers for green jobs in painting, drywall, and weatherization industries.  Interested students, who first complete the Job Corps program, would have the opportunity to transition to the Pre-Apprenticeship program, for extended training. Program is funded by a grant awarded by DOL/ETA.
