Philadelphia Job Corps Culinary Students Cater 76ers Read for Ronald Program

Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia Job Corps students, including instructor Chef Charles Lotka presented the culinary treats in fine style.  These proud students decked out in their black and white attire represented their craft with skill and smiles while assisting those attending the event from the very youngest to the oldest.  The 76ers Read for Ronald program, benefiting The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, encourages students to read while also offering assistance to families of critically ill children being treated at area hospitals.  Elementary and middle school children collect pledges for each minute they read during the month of February to help generate donations and support for The House. Sixers Elton Brand and Tony Battie congratulated the participants during the annual awards ceremony, hosted by Ronald McDonald himself! This year 28 terrific local elementary and middle schools participated in the community service contest to see who could read the most minutes for the Ronald McDonald House. In addition to helping the children and families of the House, the program promotes the value of community service. Philadelphia Job Corps Culinary students look forward to participating next year.
