Philadelphia Job Corps College Students Proud Recipients: Hershey Contributes to Culinary Arts Center
Hershey continues to encourage quality education to students with drive ambition and a desire to achieve.  A number of culinary arts students can expect an incredible benefit in training and instruction, provided by the generous support recently made this year from Hershey.  Approximately 25 Philadelphia Job Corps students attend Community College of Philadelphia (CCP).  6 Philadelphia Job Corps students enrolled in the culinary program.  The Culinary Center was featured in CCP’s PATHWAYS magazine. Philadelphia Job Corps program received kudos for on-going student enrollment in collaboration with CPP.  January 2012, Patricia Sawbo, enrolled in the culinary center, “doing well, excited about learning all there is to know about food prep and enjoying class”, states her counselor.  Along with other students she will benefit from a culinary upgrade in the learning experience.  The CCP culinary center will be doing greater things in the future in terms of education, training, and equipment.  All made possible by the financial support from Hershey.  Jim Nevel, Hershey Company Chairman, with the Hershey community team facilitated donating $250,000 to the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation to support the College’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management programs.  In commemoration the CCP center will be renamed, the “Hershey Center for Culinary Arts”.  The Philadelphia Job Corps team are proud of our students attending, CCP Hershey Center for Culinary Arts via the Philadelphia Job Corps Life Science Institute.
