Students and staff are making a difference to “save a life”. Twenty-five Student/staff registered with the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunity for patients to receive bone marrow when needed. The need is so great [more than 10, 000 patients are diagnosed with life threatening diseases, e.g. Leukemia, 70% individuals do not have matching donors from their families. This is why students and staff can rest assured by registering as a potential donor with Be The Match registry is helping more patients than ever before get the transplant they need: We glad to help and know we may ‘save a life’. The event resulted in internship opportunity for Nursing Assistants, Medical Assistant and Administrative Medical Assistant enrollee’s.
